Why to model data

An age old chestnut, if you work in IT, is the constant cold war between application developers (coders) and data modellers. Manage it correctly and you finish up with a model that supports you application that delivers business benefit to the users. Manage it incorrectly and you finishing up with a p!$$ing match that fails to deliver a solution (Sound familiar?). An article on this sort of thing from the Registers
